Love Finds a Home
Two of the stories in this book are set in Pennsylvania, and the third one begins in Central City, Nebraska and ends in Idaho City, Idaho. As I visited these places for research, history came alive for me. It was interesting to learn about the town of Easton, Pennsylvania, and find out what it was like just after World War II. I was also fascinated with the Lehigh Canal, also in Pennsylvania, and the towns that were nearby. I took a special interest in the old one-room schoolhouses in these towns near the canal. Idaho City, Idaho was especially fun to visit, since it used to be a booming town in the gold rush era, but is now considered a ghost town. It was interesting to tour the town and see a re-creation of bygone days.

Many years ago, I discovered an abandoned log cabin near my childhood home in Tacoma, Washington, and I've been fascinated with log cabins ever since.
