Do you know of about any of the toys and games that are popular among Amish children. I recall playing hopscotch and 4-square as a child, but my grandkids are more interested in the visual complexities of video games or multifaceted plastic & automated toys. I wonder how Amish families teach their children to find satisfaction in simplicity, rather than always wanting more?

Amish children and young adults play a lot of outdoor games–baseball, volleyball, basketball. Some Amish children have trampolines in their yard, and of course, most have swings to play on. Indoors Amish children play board games, work on puzzles, and read. They also enjoy playing with yo-yos, marbles, and jump ropes. The girls play with dolls and the boys play with building blocks, toy trains, tractors, and trucks.
