I did not go to a one rom school but it had out houses and I know a little about it. I also brought my lunch, also that was 1956 and in the 1960 they started bring meals on wheels. That was a good time back thin and we respected the teacher and it sound a lot like growing up Amish we did not have power or running water. So I think they learn more and had respect for one another .sf smile Reader Forum

I believe one room school houses work extremely well.

All the children can be in the same class with their siblings, so they know what their brothers and sisters are learning at school.

This way brothers and sisters in a family  can help each other out with their lessons at home.

From my studying on Amish Education, I believe that one room schools  are a wonderful idea.

I agree that it does sound like a good idea, but how would it / could it (practically) be applied to our society? Think of how many children are in each school, and how many schools are in each city.
