The one thing I most admire about the Amish way of life is their ability to see things differently in an uncluttered world. They live such simple lives, without the internet, video games, or TV, and still have time to thank the Lord for everything they have. They forgive without holding certain conditions over the forgiveness, regardless of the crimes or sins against them.  I love that uncluttered world that they have and wonder if I could have that peace, even for a day.

Yes, that kind of peace would really be uplifting!  The Amish so show a dedication to God & one another that is so much missing in today's busy lifestyles.  We admire their faith & their continued seperation from the "englisch" world.  It would be very hard for some of us to live that simle a life.  We have read many, many Amish books & have favorites marked in our Nook reader.  We also have favorite Amish sites that tell about them and their lifestyle marked on our computer.  Thank you Wanda for the great books you continue to put out.  So glad to have found her web site

My husband and I have many Amish friends in several communities throughout the United States. We enjoy spending time with them and admire their devotion to God and family.

What is the one thing you admire most about the Amish way of life?

I am humbled by their strong quiet faith and their willingness to be of service to all.  Their heritage of staying true to their beliefs that many "modern" things cause them to lose time and focus from their families is something I admire as well.

Having grown up near the Shenandoah Valley in VA, I now live in TN – but felt right at home when I got to the Farmers Market here and there was an Amish family with some way-too-yummy treats!  What's really funny?  The sisters were from Virginia too!

I love many things about the Amish, but the number one thing that I often think of is how they take care of their own, specifically their elders. I really admire the way they treat their elder family members and look out for them and give them housing also. I also love how they all chip in to help someone who has a need, whether it be a new home or financial if they are in the hospital. I admire them so much for their spirit of togetherness. I have always been intriqued by the Amish. There way of life seems so peaceful. I admire how they help each other in any type of need. I cherish all of the books I have read about them. Last summer my husband and I were returning home from visiting my mother in Freeport, Il. We came back through Kenturcky and stopped at The Jefferson Davis Monument in Fairview. When we  drove through Pembroke it was like stepping right into my book.

I love the way they live a simplistic and deeply religious lifestyle.  It is always very peaceful when I visit Amish communities.

There are so many things that I can honestly say inspire me.. the simplicity in their way of living, and trusting in God in all that they do and all that happens. Most of us, though some may not admit it, yearn for the love and trust that the Amish show towards family, friends and most of all God. In a sense, the Amish are just like us. They love, they hurt, they know pain, they know joy and happiness. They go through daily struggles like we do, but believing in God our Father, and knowing that with Him, they will get through anything, is something we "Englishers" take for granted. Our cell phones, TV's, cars, fashion, have become the necessity in our lives. These things are what cause "our" world to be what it is. The necessity in their lives is God, family and friends, and LOVE.  Not how they are dressed or the makeup they have on or what kind of car they drive. In all honesty, they have taught me a lot in my life, and I can say that by always putting Him first, I have known more love and have felt more at peace with myself than I ever have before.

Live Simply, Love Generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly, and Leave the rest to God!!

May God bless you all!

Happy Anniversary Wanda!

I admire their contentment!  It makes me really think about our conveniences and if they were taken away, would I be content?  Just a thought! I'm striving to simplify my life and be content in all things….. The characters in Wanda's books are content, but then there are some that are not and it's good to see the different characters that have the same struggles we do!  Thanks Wanda!
